1 Million Face Masks: Are Americans Dying To Protect Foreign Soldiers?

Did the United States government just give 1 million face masks to Israel’s IDF while Americans are dying?

An Israeli press report has ignited anger, causing some Americans to question the priorities of the Trump administration. The report originally claimed the Department of Defense  gave 1 million masks to IDF. Later, the report changed to remove American involvement.

Unmasking The Truth

Besides the tweet, which is yet to be removed, the report has changed to say Israel received the masks from China. Though not before being caught by “TheNewArab“.

“US Department of Defense give 1 million masks to IDF for coronavirus use,” read a headline published by the Jerusalem Post on Wednesday, referring to the shipment that had arrived at Ben-Gurion Airport on Tuesday night.

The original article said: “A plane carrying over a million surgical masks for the IDF landed in Ben-Gurion airport Tuesday night, in an operation run by the US Department of Defense’s Delegation of Procurement”.

Curiously, the headline was later revised to: “Israel brings 1 million masks from China for IDF soldiers” but traces of the old headline can be seen in the article’s URL.

All mention of the US Department of Defense’s alleged involvement also appear to have been removed, with no reason given in the updated article for the revision or official retraction posted.

This all checks out, the story was changed to exclude American involvement. Israel did receive face masks through US channels. All while our frontline healthcare workers are going without much needed supplies.

Covid-19 has claimed more than 16,000 American lives so far.

Unmasking the Anger

This report by The New Arab is pushing a false political narrative. The writer clearly intends to fuel anger against Trump. Of the many reasons to be angry about coronavirus, this is not one. The masks in question are not the golden lifesaving N95 mask. The items delivered to Israel were surgical masks. These surgical face masks are easier to get than toilet paper.

As with any disaster there is plenty of blame to go around. If medical workers can’t get their hands on surgical masks the problem resides with the leaders of the super rich medical industry. The fact that the original story was changed is concerning, but it really amounts to nothing considering the headline was misleading anyway. This is not one of several reasons to question US Israeli coziness. Unless you are concerned more with hate for a political party.

Following years of threats and enlisting the help of China, global terrorist Bill Gates now holds the world hostage until his digital vaccine demands are met. The world has less than 10 years to meet the UN’s mandated population reduction goals. Only billionaires are essential. Fearing their masters, disgraced journalists direct your anger away from the essentially useless.

Using a pandemic to push a political agenda is not journalism.
